Truly Sarah Ceramics Trunk Show

  • MoonMountain Highway 113 West Steuben Street Cook, WA, 98605 United States (map)
My work is thrown on a potter’s wheel using a porcelain clay. I decorate the surfaces using a technique called sgraffito. The designs I carve are done free hand. I do not use stencils nor sketch them out beforehand; my patterns are created organically which shift and change to fit the form. The patterns will be similar but each piece is completely unique. I put a clear glaze over the designs so that there is a smooth tactile surface that makes holding and using the piece interactive. All my pieces are dishwasher, and microwave safe.

Sarah Hui has made White salmon her home for the last 20 years. She crafts her art out of her tiny studio at her home there. She is most passionate about the intersection of art and function. She hopes her art brings a little more joy and comfort to the world and the people in it.
